High power delegation to go to Delhi

Imphal, September 18: A high power delegation will got to New Delhi to discuss the Piphema incident and frequent cases of extortion, looting, harassment, torture, molestation, rape on NH-39 and 53.The decision was taken in a joint meeting held yesterday between representatives of various political aprties and United Committee Manipur.

K Langamba, Vice President, UCM presided over the meeting and RK Ranendrajit was the moderator.

In the meeting it was resolved that the boycott of NH-39 be continued until an agreement is reached.

It was decided to send a team to the centre so that the matter can be resolved.

The High Power delegation will consist of representatives of political parties, UCM and Government.

A joint meeting with Nagaland and Central Government will also be held to discuss the matter.

To enable the UCM to call off the boycott it was decided that the centre be urged to arrange adequate security arrangement on the two national highways.

The centre will also be urged to immediately improve the condition of national highway-53.It was decided to urge the Chief Minister of Manipur to implement the decisions of the meeting.
