Imphal, Aug 18: As condemnation in the strongest terms against the August 16 grenade attack at Imphal ISKCON complex continued to flood in unabated - cowardly, heinous, insane, atheistic, inhumane etc are the some of the terms used by numerous social, voluntary and religious organisations to vent their angst and despair to the act of terrorism.

To denounce the ghastly act, students and teachers of Bhaktivedanta Institute Mission Higher Secondary School (BIM Hr Sec School) and Little Flower School, Sangaiprou staged a protest demonstration today.

High Court Bar Association, manipur condemning the attack and urging civil societies and human rights activists in the State to take up appropriate action to prevent further atrocities and violation of human rights of innocent citizens also pledged its maximum cooperation to any activities meant for the welfare of the people and protection of human rights in the State.

While many demanded immediate clarification if any armed group or groups are responsible for the criminal act others opined that a high level inquiry is needed in finding out the truth.

The bodies also conveyed of observing prayers for peaceful rest of the departed souls as well as hoping for the safe and early return of the injured to their homes and families apart from appealing to all concerned to desist from such anti-social and disturbing activity in the future.

They further decried and expressed strong resentment that an act of violence was committed in a religious premise that too on an auspicious occasion.

The IG AR (South) Major Gen BS Ghotra has also strongly condemned the bomb attack and termed it as a dastardly act, said a statement issued by the AR PRO today.
