Imphal, March 18: As pre-emptive measures, the District Magistrate of Imphal West A Ibocha has issued prohibitory order restricting movement of people with immediate effect from 6 pm till 5 am in Imphal West district on daily basis under further orders.

The prohibitory order was served under Sub Section (2) of Section 144, CrPC 1973. Similar restrictions have also been imposed in all the valley districts.

Even though the prohibitory order has been announced, the District Magistrate did not specify any particular incident but cited police report of strong possibility of prevailing situation causing serious breach of peace, disturbance to public tranquillity and grave danger to human lives and properties within the scheduled area.

No one should move out after 6 pm, said the order.

In case of emergencies and for persons who want to take out procession for marriage, funeral etc within the Scheduled Area all concerned are required to apply for permission from either the District Magistrate or SP concerned, the order mentioned.

Similar prohibitory orders have also been issued by authorities concerned of all the valley districts.
