Imphal, June 17 2010: Opposition leader, Sushma Swaraj led BJP central team has been informed to come to the state on June 23 as fixed by a meeting of the BJP Manipur Pradesh today.

The Central team of the BJP is scheduled to visit the state and take stocks of the situation of the state arising out of 67 day old economic blockade on the two National highways.

People of Manipur were experiencing artificial scarcity of foods and other essential items like the petroleum products owing to the total blockade on the highways passing through the state and lifelines of the people of the state.

A BJP team led by opposition leader, Sushma Swaraj is arriving at Imphal on June 23 to take stock of the situation of Manipur due to prolong economic blockade and to take first hand account of the suffering of the people, president of the state unit of the party Shantikumar said.

After the meeting of the party fixed the scheduled, the same has been sent to the Centre today itself.

The state unit also started preparation for receiving the visiting team, Shantikumar informed after the meeting today.

The team is coming to the state to study the situation of the people of the state when both state and Central governments authority failed to come up with a solution to end the blockade or relieving people from the artificial scarcity of the foods and other essential items, he told.
