Manipur government trying to sabotage peace talks: NPO
Source: Manipur Mail

Imphal, October 09: The Naga people Organization(NPO) has termed the arrest of 13 NSCN (IM) cadres as a move to sabotage the Naga peace process.

NPO President M Dilli said the Manipur government knew that the NSCN-IM leaders would come to Tamenglong for the meeting on October 8 and so the state government has sent police there to wait for the NSCN-IM cadres in the area.

United Naga Council President KS Paul Leo had demanded the resignation of all the Naga MLA's and Ministers in Manipur.

Talking to Newmai News Network the former President said that the way the Naga MLAs and Ministers deal with the situation arising out of the arrest of the NSCN-IM leaders was not effective and satisfactory.

He said that all the Naga MLAs and Ministers should resign for allowing the Manipur Police to arrest the IM leaders.

He said that the ceasefire between NSCN-IM and Government exist technically in Manipur though there is no formal declaration because the peace talk is going on between the two parties.

So it's natural that when there is peace-talk between the two, both the two parties confront each other.

The Naga council of Nagaland has termed the arrest of the NSCN-IM leaders as pre-planned move of Manipur government to derail the ongoing peace process.
