Imphal, September 09: The UG suspect killed during an alleged encounter with a combined force of Thoubal District Police Commandos and 34 Assam Rifles at Salungpham Mayai Leikai in Thoubal district early morning yesterday has been identified today.

He was one Leichonbam Nitaibi (22) s/o Leichonbam Budhichandra of Tera-khongshangbi Mamang Leikai.

Family members claimed that he had been picked up along with two other friends by some security personnel in civvies and speaking Manipuri from the house of one of his aunties at Andro Khunou at around 2 am yesterday.

Meanwhile, the body has been handed over to the family members after post-mortem at RIMS today.

On the other hand, the identity of another UG suspect killed by a combined of Imphal West Commandos, 16 Assam Rifles and 109 CRPF during a encounter along National Highway 53 near Molnoi village under Senapati District has been established as Oinam Ngongo (21) s/o Tomba of Itham Nungoi.

Family members claimed that Ngongo was an innocent person who had no connection with any underground organisation.

Ngongo had gone out from home to buy some cloths from Imphal at around 10 am yesterday.

His body has been handed over to the family members after post-mortem examination at RIMS today.

On the other hand, Moreh Police have notified that the body of a UG suspect who was killed by personnel of 31 Assam Rifles at New Sijang under Moreh Police Station on the night of September 8 would be disposed off if no one comes to claim the body within September 12.
