KSO appeals for calm

Lamka, June 09: Taking a serious note of the escalating violence in Moreh and its surrounding areas, Kuki Students� Organisation, Ghqs has appeal to all communities for calm and to stop violence.

�It is unfortunate that even before the ink of the Memorandum of Understanding signed at Moreh has dried, the situation has escalated to the loss of many precious lives on 9th June 2007 at Moreh and its surrounding villages,� said the student organization and blamed the State Government of failing to take any preventive measures despite the tense situation at the border town.

In addition to the appeal to �all communities of Moreh in particular and Manipur in general to stop violent activities forthwith and rather strive for peace and harmony in the land,� the student body also called on the State Govt to immediately step in and take measures to completely control the situation and restore normalcy.
