Imphal, February 09: Terming the Senapati Conclave wherein 47 Naga candidates signed a declaration as "immature and childish", the Democratic Peoples Party (DPP) today said that the party is planning a Statewide solidarity march in protest against the declaration on Febrruary 11.Making the announcement during a press conference held at the party office today, DPP president Khaidem Mani blasted the declaration saying it was a move to disintegrate Manipur.

As predicted by DPP, a "particular force" is still challenging the age old territorial integrity of Manipur, he said and added that the party took the matter very seriously.

He also, reminded that the party was formed amidst the flames of the June 18 with a new political mission.

He said that the Statewide march which will kick off at 7 am is not related with any party election campaign.

The rallyists will not carry political flags and there will be no election related slogan or propaganda during the march.

He further said that DPP does not believe in communal politics.

Making a fervent appeal to all sections of the people, Mani said that DPP welcomes other political parties to join the march if they are committed to safeguarding the territorial integrity of the State.

DPP regards that safeguarding the State territory is more important than the ensuing election, he said and added that party put a halt to its election campaign for 24 hours since yesterday to study the Senapati declaration.

Party general secretary RK Anand while terming the Senapati Conclave as immature and childish said the organization which initiated the declaration lacks "ethnic balance".

He also expressed surprise at the mentality of the 47 candidates who attended the conclave organized by some NGOs whose antecedents are not above board and highly questionable.

DPP will challenge the declaration on the floor of the Assembly; he said adding that his party will fight for safeguarding the territorial integrity of Manipur till the last breathe.

He further said that DPP feels that handing over of power to seasoned politicians and their political parties which were boycotted by the people during the ceasefire extension episode will not be wise for the future of Manipur.

DPP working president Udoi Thongam said that the Centre has left a scare among the communities by the June 14 Bangkok Agreement.

Udoi Thongam has also charged that the party high commands of MSCP, FPM, SAP, Congress, BJP and NNP were at Senapati.
