At every instance of around 100 meter, they piled up stones and woods.

They even dug out the road so that only two wheeler vehicle can pass through.

As they kept the Central security forces outside the purview of the blockade, Assam Rifles vehicles passed the stretch upto some kilometer by clearing the stones and woods but due to outnumber blockade places, they turned back.

No restriction was given to the reporters in proceeding forward but they warned that if any explosive material found, they will faced untoward incident.

Speaking to reporters, chairperson of a women body of Tumuyon Khullen, Ts Kavala observed that the unfortunate incident at Mao gate might not happened if police commandos and IRB were not detailed there.

They are always acting against the wishes of the people.

They will prevent police commandos and IRB from traveling on the highway but Central security forces like the Assam Rifles and CRPF will be allowed to pass through at their own effort, she said.

Meanwhile, a reinforcement team of Manipur Rifles, IRB and police personnel left Imphal yesterday were halting at Kangpokpi police station unable to proceed beyond Kangpokpi due to the piling up stones and woods on their way to Mao gate.
