Imphal, April 04: To kickstart its election campaign, the FPM, which has fielded its president Dr L Chandramani as the consensus candidate of the DPA has constituted a campaign committee with MLA N Nilachandra as the chairman.

The committee members consist of all the FPM candidates who fought in the last general election including the 13 MLAs the party has in its kitty.

Office bearers of the party are also members of the campaign committee.

The campaign committee was constituted during a meeting held at the Lamphel residence of Dr L Chandramani today.

Party vice president Gangmumei Kamei and general secretary S Brajagopal will be the spokesperson and convenor respectively of the campaign committee.

The presidents of the FPM Women Front and Youth Front have also been inducted into the election campaign committee.

The first meeting of the committee is scheduled to be held tomorrow at the party's office at 11 am.

The flag hoisting ceremony of the candidate is likely to be held after the scrutiny of the candidate.

Flag hoisting: Flag hoisting and launching of election campaign for Nationalist Trinamool Congress candidate for the Outer seat in the forthcoming Lok Sabha election W Morung Makunga would be held tomorrow at the Mantripukhri residence of the candidate.

NTC gen sccy and observer Veena Nayyar and Ex-MLA Dr M Horam would be among those who would be addressing the people at the occasion.

Meanwhile, Heingang Local Council, CPI has commenced election campaigning for party's candidate Dr M Nara from today by going from house to house.
