Ukhrul, April 02: The Hunphun Shanao Long (HSL/ Ukhrul Women's' Union) and Hunphun Katamnao Long (HKL/Ukhrul Students Union) are all set to organize a mass rally on April 4 at Ukhrul town to condemn the kidnapping and subsequent killing of two innocent school boys of Don Bosco, Maram Senapati, Hriini Hubert (10) and Muheni Martin (10).In a statement, Veronica Zingkhai, president HSL stated that the kidnapping and subsequent murder of the two innocent school boys deserve the strongest condemnation.

Such felony perpetrated in our society deserve the most stringent punitive action so that it will not recur in our society, she said.

The president has also appealed to all the mothers and the public of Ukhrul HQs to participate in the rally to show their solidarity in condemning the heinous crime.

The two bodies further informed that the search for justice will go on since the "law of our land is meant to protect every law abiding citizen". However, the rule of law becomes a reality only if justice is seen to be delivered, it said and urged the authority concerned to dispense justice at the earliest.

Dispatching more efficient human and responsive police force along with more efficient and effective judiciary of our Government will make this possible, it added.

Meanwhile, the Ukhrul District Journalist Association (UDJA) has decided to extend their support to the rally .

Demanding justice at the earliest, the scribes' body stated that in this kind of case legal punishment alone does not suffice, customary sanction needs to be initiated by all the Tribes/ communities if members of their community is found to be involved.

What's the use of having a strong custom when customary sanction is not initiated in this kind of horrible crime while extra ordinary punishment is needed, it asked.
