Imphal, January 29 2009: AS THE matter of opening designated camps of the NSCN(IM) in Manipur is a sentimental one for the people of the state, government should take up immediate actions to closed down the camps before another uprising of the people erupts, demand the Awang-ChingKhei Apunba Ireipak, Inat Kanba Lup (AIKANLUP) today.

It has been very clearly highlighted since the siege of an NSCN(IM) camp at Siroy by the Assam Rifles from January 18 last that within the territory of Manipur, NSCN(IM) is running its camps at Boning at Senapati, Oklong in Tamenglong and Phungchong in Chandel as exposed by the Assam Rifles authority even though Manipur government has said there is no designated camp of the outfit in the state.

The state government should take up appropriate action as Centre has in the wake of June 18, 2001 withdraw the extension of cease fire without territorial limit and reaffirmed that the cease fire will be limited only in the state of Nagaland before another uprising erupts, the statement signed by Kanglei Moirangcha general secretary of AIKANLUP) said.
