Imphal, May 13 2010: Rather than intriguing to break up Manipur, Thuingaleng Muivah should focus on sovereignty.

This would be the most appropriate step for himself as well as the Naga people, asserted KCP.

A press release issued by Yaiphaba, assistant secretary of Tabungba of the outfit's information and public relations department asked Muivah to drop his plan of visiting Manipur with the alleged intention to disintegrate Manipur.

Saying that movements devoid of popular support were never successful, KCP noted that it's time for the people to teach the Government of India a befitting lesson for persistently trying to break up Manipur and put the indigenous people under their rule forever.

The Government of India cannot gift away any part of Manipur to any party.

For this, the KCP is all prepared to stand firm together with the people against any design to disintegrate Manipur.

Manipur had been an independent nation for many years, but after it was merged into the Indian Union in 1949, Manipur has been facing all kinds of threats and conspiracies aimed at creating communal conflicts and ultimately disintegration of Manipur, the outfit asserted.

Series of multiple crisis and issues besetting Manipur can be resolved only when Manipur is politically independent, it added.
