Imphal, December 30: A mobile campaign against bird flu was conducted today under the aegis of Wild Life Wing, Department of Forest and Environment in the surrounding areas of Loktak lake.

The campaign team led by Divisional Forest Officer, Park and Sanctuary L Muhindro conducted awareness programmes at the fishing colonies of Phubala and Narainsena and was participated many.

On an inspection tour to Ibohal Farm near the Keibul Lamjao National park where migratory birds flock, an ailing kite with fluid in the beak was observed.

The bird was collected by the team.

It is reported that the ailing kite would be first treated by a veterinary doctor before handing over to zoo authority.
