Imphal, April 29: Accusing the election observers deputed by the Election Commission India (ECI) of not carrying out their duties efficiently, Manipur People's Party (MPP) president O Joy today stated that his party would begin pressurizing the Election Commission not to declare the results of both the Inner and Outer Lok Sabha polls.

Speaking at a press conference at the MPP office this afternoon, Joy said that Congress led SPF Govt had openly violated the election Model Code of conduct many times during the recent Lok Sabha polls and added that MPP had not only intimated the matter to the ECI but had also appealed for taking up appropriate actions against the Ministers concerned immediately.

He further reiterated that the party would pressurize the ECI to hold back the election results until and unless proper actions are taken against the guilty Ministers for violating the election Model Code of conduct.

Even though the Model Code of conduct came into force from February 29 onwards, Joy said that the ruling Government had openly violated the Model code of conduct by not only distributing tractors and other equipments but had also withdrawn Rs 42 lakhs from the MAHUD Department without the approval of the councillors and utilized it during the Lok Sabha polls.

He also charged that a senior police officer of the State Police Dept in collusion with a particular candidate had also indulged in.

booth capturing.

Commenting on the recent arrest of a man from Thangmeiband A/C by the RPF cadres while distributing money for the Congress candidate during the inner polls, Joy said that the incident has proved beyond doubt that Congress workers are bribing the voters to garner their votes.

He also lauded the RPF cadres for unearthing the sinister designs of the Congress workers.
