Imphal, March 28: Charging the BJP of promoting corruption, favoritism and red-tapism in the country, State unit of the Congress party today remarked that corruption and BJP always go together and are like the two sides of a coin.

Party spokesman T Gunadhaja Singh in a statement claimed that BJP leaders as well as it workers are nothing but a bunch of hypocrites who have no love for the country or the teeming millions.

Countering the BJP charges that Congress party had not done anything substantial for the country during its 45 years of rule, Gunadhaja asserted that whatever BJP has been able to achieve during its short stint has been all due to the foundations laid by the Congress party during its rule of about half a century.

BJP which had promised to pass the Lok Pal Bill has has not done anything on the matter even after coming to power and instead corruption has reached its zenith during the five years rule of the Vajpayee Govt, asserted Gunadhaja.

Former BJP president Bangaru Laxman and Samata Party leader Jay a Jaitely who had resigned after the infamous Tehelka.com have been reinstated again by the BJP led NDA Govt making a mockery of the democratic principles of the country, said Gunadhaja and added that George Fernandes who also resigned after the Tehelka episode have also been iinducted again even before the completion of the inquiry.

He also rued that LK Advani, Murii Manohar Joshi and Uma Bharti who have all been charged sheeted in connection with the demolition of Babri Masjid have been provided with higher portfolios instead of rusticating them from the party and further accused the BJP of clandestinely removing Advani's name from the charge sheet prepared by the CBI in connection with the Babri Masjid demolition.

The Kargil coffin scam, late arrival of war equipment after the Kargil War, failure of the BJP led NDA Govt to translate its promises of providing employment to one crore youths after coming to power etc are some of the glaring examples of corruption and inefficiency of the BJP led Govt at the Centre, added Gunadhaja.
