Imphal, July 27: The RIMS authority has kept its isolation ward ready for accommodating patients suspected to be suffering from bird flu, said a statement issued by the Media Advisor of the Institute today.

Senior Professors, doctors and para medics have also been engaged to treat such cases, said the statement and added that seminars, medical education are being carried out to create awareness among the staff.

Necessary masks, kits and others are being requisitioned from the State Government.

A high level committee headed by RIMS Superintendent Dr Y Mohen has also been formed to chalk out strategies, it added.

Meanwhile, Padma Medicare a Patient Service Centre has notified that facilities for blood test to detect presence of bird flu in human are available at its centre.

The test will be conducted at SRL Ranbaxy Pathology Laboratory, Mumbai.
