Imphal, July 23: Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh, also in charge of Home Portfolio, announced in the State assembly today that both members of PRA involved in the January 10, 1993 killing of special contractor Laishram Iboyaima of Singjamei have died.

According to the CM's version PRA chief Aheibam Prakash alias Ngamba alias Pibo of Heirangoithong Maibam Leikai provided a modified double barrel gun to another PRA member identified as Ph Bisho alias Bisheshor to exterminate the special contractor.

During police interrogation of both the PRA activists, arrested in connection with separate incidents, they revealed that the killing was carried out by the organization who felt disgusted with Iboyaima's conduct, contented the CM adding that State police could ascertain that no one else is involved in the crime.

While Bisho was killed in factional clash on June 22, 1995 Prakash was shot dead on November 23 three years later during an encounter with police at Laipham Khunou, he disclosed.

The CM's statement today is in compliance with agreement during question hour raised by MLA O Joy Singh some days back and commitment given during discussion on demands concealing Home Department at yesterday's session.

To a question from Singjamei A/C MLA I Hemochandra demanding information on murderer of Kshetrimayum brothers Rajen and Hiranpu of Chingamakha on March 22 this year at Keirao Kairang Palli, Ibobi said two persons suspected to be involved in the murder case were arrested.

While suspect Laishram Ajit (30) alias Imocha and Laishram Amarjit (20) alias Taton of Khagempalli Huidrom Leikai were detained the former has been released on bail with Amarjit still languishing at jail, he commented.

Dissatisfied at the CM's contention, Hemochandra questioned that despite the deceased Rajen, moments before his demise, mentioning the involvement of another person in the murder why has the State Government failed to arrest the culprit.

Joining the discussion, O Joy disclosed the identity of the absconder as one Jayenta and demanded to know what action has been taken up by the Government to arrest all the involved person and vehicle used in the criminal act.

Reacting to the barrage of question, the CM stated that Irilbung police has registered a case on the matter and hectic process on to arrest all the involved.
