At about 2.30 pm the CBI team escorted by personnel of Manipur Rifles and IRB reached Maimu Pharmacy only to find the medical store shut.
The investigating agency, however, insisted that the pharmacy owner or a representative report at the site.
The CBI team is being led by an IGP ranked officer who also holds the post of Joint Director.

Imphal, January 19 2010:
The CBI team has begun spot investigation from today to establish veracity on the July 23, 2009 firing incident at Khwairamband Keithel that led to the demise of two persons and injured five others.
With the incident sparking widespread agitation and the Gauhati High Court issuing a directive that the case be handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), the State Govt in compliance with the court order sought services of the CBI sleuths to establish veracity on the allegation that firing was stage-managed by police commandos.
