Dimapur, June 10 2010: The ban on the vehicles registered in Manipur imposed by the Naga Students' Federation (NSF) will be lifted soon, according to NSF sources.

The sources said that a letter from the state government of Manipur was dispatched to the NSF expressing their regret over the May 3 incident at Mao Gate where the Naga students' leaders were barred from proceeding towards Manipur by Manipur police commandos and IRB personnel.

The NSF sources said that the content of 'the letter of regret' from the Manipur government did not fully convinced the NSF but considering the hardship faced by the people, the ban on Manipur vehicles in Naga areas would be lifted 'shortly'.

The NSF had banned vehicles registered in Manipur after the state security forces barred NSF leaders from entering Manipur on May 3 at Mao Gate.
