Imphal, July 07: Chief Minister O Ibobi today categorically said that there is no question of encroachment in Dzuko Valley by Nagaland.

The CM said this while replying to a call attention motion raised by two Opposition MLAs, O Joy and L Ibomcha on the question of preventing members of the Manipur Adventure and Allied Sports Institute's from entering the valley by two social organizations of Nagaland.

Raising the motion, Opposition leader O Joy observed that the Dzuko dispute which have very often made headlines due to the claims made on it by the people of Nagaland is a very sentimental issue of the Manipuris.

Stating that nobody can oppose the bifurcation of Dzuko valley between the two States with the Northern side belonging to Nagaland and the Southern side belonging to Manipur, O Joy informed that South Angami Students Union and Angami People's Organization had prevented the Manipur troupe from entering the valley and had also told them that a written statement of the organization had already been intimated to the Chief Ministers of both the State as well as the concerned DC's.Joy further asserted that these instances were not good signs if found to be true.

He also said that Dzuko valley dispute being closely related with the boundary of the State, there is a strong possibility that misunderstandings may occur between the two States creating law and order problems in the State.

He also appealed to the people of Nagaland as well as the Chief Minister Rio to avoid repeating such acts again in the future.

L Ibomcha who also raised the Zuko issue along with O Joy, asserted that Nagaland is the real owner of Dzuko Valley where as the ownership rights of Manipur lies only in namesake.

He added that a committee should be formed immediately to look into the matter.

Replying to the call attention motion of the Opposition leaders, Tourism Minister C Doungel said that the MAASI's team of 41 members had not given any official notification about their trip to Dzuko Valley and added that MAASI team might have been prevented as they tried to enter the valley from the Nagaland side.

Agreeing fully with the Opposition claim that Zuko issue is a very sentimental question, Minister Doungel maintained that such unwanted incidents would not have taken place had the MAASI team approached the valley from the Mao area.

Mention may be made here that approach road from the Mao area is said to be in a terrible shape despite repeated assurances from the Govt to develop it.

On the other hand the approach from the Nagaland side is said to be very good and most of the people are found taking this route.

No official report about the Dzuko incident have been received by the Govt nor the Senapati DC has received any complaint from the MAASI members, informed the Tourism Minister C Doungel.

Replying to the motion of the Opposition members, CM O Ibobi Singh who is also in charge of Home clarified that he had no received any official intimation from the two Angami Organizations.

The Chief Minister rubbish the allegations that Nagaland had encroached into the Manipur's land in the Dzuko valley.
