Muivah reaches his next stop at Pfutsero

Imphal, June 04 2010: NSCN (I-M) general secretary, Th Muivah, who left Viswema village on Thursday, has reportedly reached Pfutsero in Phek district of Nagaland,very close to Manipur border, where he was reportedly given a public reception today.

Highly placed sources said that Muivah was expected to meet various NGOs at Pfutsero and also likely to visit other places in Nagaland to hold consultative meetings while staying at the town, the highest town in Nagaland, situated 2133.60 metres above sea level and comprising 19 villages.

After a month-long stay at Viswema village, NSCN (I-M) general secretary Th Muivah moved to Pfutsero, Phek district today at 9 am against the backdrop of opposition by the GPRN/NSCN and NNC.

Sources said that Muivah is accompanied by senior leaders of the outfit on his visit to Phek district, once the bastion of the NNC.

He was received at Pfutsero town at 11 am where he met the leaders of various Chakhesang civil societies, public and church bodies.

The purpose, duration and schedule of Muivah's visit to Pfutsero town were not clearly known to others but it was learnt that his itinerary for other parts of Nagaland would be finalized at Pfutsero, according to reports in some sections of Nagaland based newspapers.

Muivah and his entourage would not be staying at Chakhesang Baptist Church Council (CBCC) guest house as initially planned.

CBCC executive secretary Rev.K.Lurou has reportedly arranged a private residence for accommodating the visiting team.

He was opposed to stay there at CBCC but later the authority of the church reviewed the earlier decision and conveyed to the NSCN (I-M) team and would be allowed to stay there.

Source further mentioned that Muivah's is likely to include meetings at Mokokchung, Mon and Tuensang among others part of Nagaland.

However, whether his visit schedule visit includes his native village Somdal in Manipur could not be ascertained from the source even he can take the route from there to Somdal in the hilly terrain through Jessami and Liyii Khunou.
