Imphal, May 03: Taking strong exception against the election boycott call given by the UNLF, the Union Home Ministry has asked the State Government to take up stern action against all the voluntary organizations as well as meira paibi lups, which had supported the boycott call and brand them as outlawed organizations.

Disclosing this to The Sangai Express, a well placed source informed that the Union Home Ministry has sent a message to the State Chief Secretary AP Sharma to furnish the details and official report of the boycott call given by the UNLF.

Following the strict instructions from the Centre, the State Government is trying to make a list of all the voluntary organizations and meira paibi lups, which had issued statements supporting the boycott call, said the source adding that the Centre has also quizzed the State Government on what action has been taken up against the organizations which had supported the election boycott.

The Centre has also asked the State Government to submit a detailed report on the security measures taken up to nullify to boycott call given by the UNLF, said the source.

Details of any incidents in connection with the boycott call have also been sought.

The source further said that the repoll in eight polling stations of Jiribam and 13 polling stations in Vangai Range in Churachandpur have been deferred indefinitely on the instructions of the Election Commission of India.

The repoll is expected to be conducted after a thorough security network is put in place.
