Imphal, May 14 2010: The NPO Senapati has declared the month of May as the Month of Mourning in honour of the two innocent students killed at Mao Gate on May 6 .

This month of mourning would extend up to May 31 counting from May 6, said a an NPO press release.

The NPO has also declared these days of mourning as days of Gena whereby the general public of Senapati district shall abstain from normal manual works.

Churches and religious institutions shall pray and fast for the departed souls of late Chakho and Loshuo.

During these days, the people shall abstain from entertainment programmes, merry-makings and celebrations.

Moreover, all shops and business establishments shall open at half-shutter and operate for few restricted hours, added the release.
