Imphal, May 30 2010: The Rongmei Lu Phom, the Rongmei Women Organisation, Assam, Manipur and Nagaland today expressed condemnation to the excessive meted out by the Manipur police commandos and IRB at Noney on NH-53 on May 28 .

In the incident, apart from injuring to three persons of the area, many other were also assaulted and harassed by the security forces, the statement signed by Panti Gonmei, president, RLP claimed.

The public were not to be blamed for the truck that fell capsized on the roadside by itself as driver without hindrance from any side.

The atrocities committed by the state forces had sent the wrong massage and created panic in the area.

Government should redress the grievances of the victims, it demanded.
