Imphal, June 03 2010: CPI General Secretary AB Bardhan has written a letter to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh expressing concern over the prolonged blockade clamped along NH-39 and 53 .

Informing that common people are facing lots of hardships due to sky rocketed price hike due to the blockade AB Bardhan asked the Prime Minister why the Centre is pursuing peace talks with NSCN (IM) without raising the issue of ending the blockade.

Maintaining that Manipur has been existing as one territorial entity within its present borders for over two centuries, AB Bardhan said that apprehension of destroying the territorial integrity of the State had led to very serious consequences in the past.

Saying that the country is not aware of the progress of Indo-Naga peace talks which have been continuing since past many years, he said that but everybody knows that the talks are on the question of creating Greater Nagaland.
