Imphal, May 28 2010: Students of CC Higher Secondary School, Blazing Daffodils Academia, Baby Seikam English High School, Convenant English School and Ananda Singh Higher Secondary Academy today staged dharna demanding lifting of the economic blockade being imposed on the National Highways and to restore peace and normalcy in the State.

Interacting with mediapersons on the sidelines of the protest demonstration, one student of CC Higher Secondary School observed that there has been a noticeable decrease in the number of students coming to the school following shortage of petrol and hike in the auto fares as a consequent of the ongoing total economic blockade along the National Highways.

The demonstrating students also appealed to the Government for providing adequate petrol to their school van services so that they could attend classes without any disturbance.

The students said that they want a peaceful atmosphere conducive to academic activities in the State.
