Imphal, May 14 2010: The All Manipur Student Guardians' Association has appealed to all concerned to lift the ongoing economic blockade on National Highways in the interest of all sections of people.

Speaking to media persons at Palace Compound this afternoon, general secretary of the association O Yaima noted that all communities have been bearing the brunt of the blockade.

While condoling the death of two students at Mao Gate on May 6, he appealed to lift the blockade in the interest of the common people.

Stating that the State Cabinet's decision to bar entry of Muivah to Manipur was justified, Yaima said that Muivah may enter Manipur if he openly renounced his agenda of disintegrating Manipur.

The association's advisor S Kula appealed to all communities to remain calm and peaceful.

Taking serious note of the closure of schools due to unavailability of fuel oils for transportation of students, working president of the association N Chaoba asked the State Govt to make a special arrangement in order to provide fuels oils to school vans and buses.
