Tribal students boycott a tribal lecturer

Imphal, November 11 2008: THE MANIPUR University Tribal Students' Union (MUTSU) has boycotted C Mathew Kamei, a guest lecturer of the History Department of Manipur University for violating the restrictions and directives imposed by the tribal students' organisations of Manipur.

MUTSU president Sonthang Haokip and another students' body leader Humaliabou said that C Mathew Kamei had appeared in the October 7/8 interview conducted by the Manipur University authority which was boycotted by the tribal students' organisations in Manipur.

C Mathew Kamei had through the interview and at present he is attending the University as a guest lecturer in the History Department.

Sonthang Haokip and Humaliabou said that in today's MUTSU meeting it had been resolved that C.Mathew Kamei will be boycotted by the tribal students of the institute from November 11 onwards for going against the directives of the tribal students' bodies.

The MUTSU leaders appealed all like minded organisations to extend co-operation to MUTSU in this regard.
