Apunba Lup refutes clarification

Imphal, August 08 2009: Working Committee of the Apunba Lup (WCAL) has termed the clarification of CM's Secretary saying the Chief Minister did not state that 'there is no alternative than killing,' as a thief clarifying he did not steal.

A statement issued by WCAL appealed all concerned to join hands against the atrocities of police commandos.

It stated that unless the government led by O Ibobi is deposed, the land will be filled with widows.

Alleging the CM of making childish statement, the statement stated that O Ibobi doesn't deserve to be a CM.

He causes agonise to the people, arresting and thrashing innocent public has become his duty as a CM.

The Apunba Lup has condemned the act of Ibobi who, in an attempt to shield his guiltiness, sent police commandos to the houses of innocent people and unleashed atrocities.

The WCAL statement has also compared the Ibobi 'genocide' regime with some infamous regimes of the world like Hitler's crime against the Jews, notorious regime of Uganda's Idi Amin, and Pol Pot regime in Cambodia.

Terming the Ibobi government as 'anti-people,' the WCAL statement urged the people to come out and join in the rally to hand over a memorandum to the Governor on August 10 .

The WCAL also appeals all private and government hospitals of the state to extend assistance to the injured victims of the peoples' movement.

It also condemned the arrest of volunteers who are serving the injured victims at hospitals.

It also noted that the arrest and assault of people from the streets while returning from works is causing trouble to the people.
