Imphal, May 05 2010: Five political parties have apposed the proposed visit of NSCN (IM) General Secretary Th Muivah to the State.

A joint meeting of Manipur People's Party (MPP), and State units of Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), Communist Party of India (Marxist), All India Forward Bloc and Revolutionary Socialist Party held at MPP office resolved to oppose Muivah's visit alleging that he is the person who has been working for disintergration of Manipur.

Condemning the Union Government for allowing Muivah to visit Manipur, the meeting demanded for urgent intervention of the Prime Minister to resolve the embroglio arising out of the Central Government's permission to the Naga leader.

The joint meeting also urged the Chief Minister to convene an all political party meeting to discuss the situation.

The political parties also appealed the people of the State to maintain peace and harmony.

The meeting also took exception of the Central Government for not sending anybody to take stock of the situation.
