Imphal, May 16, 2010: Denouncing Central Government's approval to the visit of NSCN'(IM) general secretary Th Muivah to Manipur and opposition to the proposed visit of the rebel leader protest demonstrations were held at various places today.

Burning of effigies of Central Government leaders and Th Muivah, shouting of slogan against the Centre's indifferent attitude to the people of Manipur, decrying alleged attempt to create divisions among the ethnic people marked the protest demonstrations in the valley districts organised by local women bodies.

Places where protest demonstrations and rallies were held included Khurai Tinsid Road, Sagolband Kangabam Leikai, Lalambung, Singjamei Yumnam Leikai, Uripok Tourangbam Leikai, Khagempali.

Moidangpok, Chanam Pukhri Mapal Liwa Road, Wangkhei Thangapat mapal, Brahmapur Nahabam and Mahabali Kabui Khul.
