Public meet says no to Muivah's visit

Imphal, May 27 2010: As part of the ongoing public movement being launched by United Committee Manipur (UCM) against the proposed visit of NSCN (IM) general secretary Th Muivah to Manipur, a public meeting was held at Hiyangthang today and adopted various resolutions.

The public meeting held in the community hall of Hiyangthang Market was organised jointly by UCM Hiyangthang unit and local Meira Paibis and clubs of the surrounding area.

UCM president Yumnamcha Dilipkumar, advisor RK Ranendrajit, Kamei Ningthemjao, Y Kala, Md Wakil, K Ibobi, Md Haji, Alimuddin and advisor of UCM Hiyangthang unit L Mani were among the presidium members who attended the meeting.

After a thorough discussion on the proposed visit of Muivah to Manipur and its implication, the meeting adopted various resolutions to the effect of preventing entry of Muivah to Manipur at any cost, to promote cordial relationship among the various communities in Manipur and to extend full support to UCM in taking up any important public issues in the future.

At the end of the meeting, the participants also shouted slogans against the proposed visit of Muivah and reaffirming the territorial integrity of Manipur.
