Imphal, May 05 2010: In protest against the decision of the Government of India to allow Muivah to visit Manipur and to prevent any untoward incident as a result of the stand off, United Committee Manipur (UCM) has banned all the vehicles plying between Imphal and other hill districts of the State indefinitely with immediate effect from 5 am tomorrow.

UCM has also convened a public meeting at THAU Ground at 11 am tomorrow.

Announcing this at a press conference, UCM president Yumnamcha Dilipkumar decried the alleged repeated attempts of the Government of India to disintegrate Manipur and said that allowing Muivah to visit Manipur is akin to inviting communal distrusts and disintegrate Manipur.

Expressing dissatisfaction over the conduct of the Government of India, UCM has also submitted memorandum to the Prime Minister, Home Minister and Chairperson of UPA Sonia Gandhi yesterday, Dilipkumar informed.

Appreciated the State Cabinet decision on preventing entry of Muivah to the territory of Manipur, Dilipkumar also informed that UCM would be launching poster and slogan campaigns to thwart the entry of Muivah.
