No let up in decrying ISKCON bomb blast

Imphal, Aug 28: Sit-in-protest demonstrations continued to be staged decrying killing of five persons and causing injuries of several others when unidentified persons lobbed a hand grenade at the Mani Mandir complex of ISKCON here where a large number of devotees congregated at the occasion of Krishna Janmasthami on August 16.Students, staff and School Committee members of Champs' English Academy, Khabam Lamkhai staged sit-in-protest against ISKCON bombing today.

The young students held placards with slogans denouncing any act of violence in religious places and killing of innocents.

The protest demonstration was held from 10 am to 3 pm.

All Manipur Nupi Marup Sagolband Area staged a Wakat Meepham in condemnation of the August 16 grenade attack at Mani Mandir of ISKCON that killed five persons and wounded several others.

All those who were present during the protest demonstration also observed two minutes silence as mark of respect to the departed souls and prayed for speedy recovery of the injured ones.

They also appealed to all concerned to ensure such attack do not recur in crowded public places.

Describing that terror attack at ISKCON as an act of terrorism and cowardice, Nupee Lal Memorial Association, Manipur has also decried the failure of the Government to find out the perpetrators of the crime.

While coming out strongly against the ISKCON bombing as well as the firing attack by the security forces at a Church in Churachandpur, Film Forum, Manipur during its Cine off day programme at Shanker Talkies, Lamphel yesterday condoled death of innocent persons in such brutal attacks by observing 2 minutes silence as mark of respect to the departed souls, apart from praying for the speedy recovery of the injured victims.
