Five girls give the slip, escapes

Imphal, July 25: Five girl students of Anganghal English High School under Wangoi Police Station of Imphal East reportedly managed to escape from being kidnapped today.

When the news spread, enraged people of Oinam Sawombung stormed the school destroying the school gate and other structures.

After managing to escape from the clutches of their kidnappers, the five girls students were finally brought by Wangoi Police from Lilong Chingjao and handed over to their respective families.

The five girl students have been identified as Sajida d/o MM Abdul Malik, Leena Banu d/o MM Nawab Ali, Rubayak d/o Maniruddin and Tanuja d/o Maheruddin, all residents of Sawombung Makha Leikai and Sera Bhanu d/o MM Taher Ali of Wangoi Muslim Awang Leikai.

All five of them are around 13 years of age and studying in class VIII in Anganghal English High School.

In connection with the incident, Sajida to mediapersons that they were coming home from school after being expelled for using unfair means in the ongoing half-yearly examination today when four persons coming in a Santro car waylaid them and kidnapped from Wangoi Muslim Leirak area.

Among the kidnappers, two of them were wielding pistols and threatened them to be killed if they shout.

After blindfolding them and gagging their mouths with their chnnies and neck ties, they were pushed inside the car.

After the car was driven for some distance away they tried to free of them selves by kicking and shoving, and they were finally pushed out of the car one after another at Lilong Chingjao area.
