Imphal, April 25: Strongly condemning the dastardly killing of former DGP Jugeswar, State BJP chief and the its candidate in the inner seat, Th Chaoba today set the record straight and unequivocally stated, "Shri Jugesar was my relative but he was in no way connected with the politics.

He was not even a member of BJP." Stating that Jugeswar was leading a retired life when his life was snuffed out by cowards.

Th Chaoba in a statement today said, "I would like to state here categorically that it is indeed the words of cowards when they shoot/kill an unarmed and totally innocent man and then accuse after he is dead that he was drug dealer to justify their dastardly and cowardly act." Chaoba said that as the former DGP is today no longer alive, he would like to set the record straight, "Shri Jugeswar was never involved in any such activity and neither am I.I challenge the KYKL to prove that either Shri Jugeswar or myself is involved in drugs.

This attempt to cast a slur on the character of a man who has been unnecessarily killed on false charges of campaigning for the BJP without any warning or proof should be condemned by the peace loving population of Manipur." Charging the KYKL, Th Chaoba said that the outfit demanded Rs 10 crores from him dating back to 1995.However as he refused to cough up the money, the KYKL started targeting him.

Chaoba further said that a particular leader of the KYKL has been targeting him as he is close to a certain Minister, "In fact the demand for Rs 10 crores was to make me retire from politics as no one can pay such sums in their dreams.

If I am to be killed it will be the responsibility of this man how has a vested interest in my death or retirement from polities." Further charged Chaoba.
