Imphal, February 22: As has been fixed by the Election Commission of India, counting of votes for the two-phase State Assembly election will commence at respective district and sub-divisional headquarters across the State from 8 am of February 24 under tight security measures.

Results of the counting for the 40 valley ACs will be available from the evening of February 24.Though counting for the 20 hill ACs will begin on the same day, the results are likely to be upheld till repoll has been completed on February 24 and 25, said a source in the CEO office.

Counting for the 13 Assembly constituencies of Imphal West will be carried out in three halls of the DC Office Lamphel.

Postal ballot papers will be counted first before taking up the station ballot papers.

Hall number 1 will have 14 counting tables where ballot papers of Thangmeiband, Sagolband, Keisamthong, Uripok and Singjamei AC will be counted.

At the 10 tables in hall number 2, votes for Sekmai, Lamsang, Konthoujam and Patsoi AC will be counted.

Hall number 3 will have 12 tables where votes for Langthabal, Naoriya Pakhanglakpa, Wangoi and Mayang Imphal AC will be counted.

Counting for Imphal East will be conducted in three halls at Panchayat Bhavan, Porompat.

Ballots for Khurai, Khundrakpam, Heingang and Lamlai AC will be done in hall number 1 while those of Kshetrigao, Thongju, Yaiskul and Wangkhei AC will be held at hall 2.Those of Keirao and Andro AC will be held at hall number 3.Counting for the six ACs of Bishnupur district will be held in three counting rooms at the Mini Secretariat Hall.

Votes for Nambol and Oinam will be counted at 8 tables in room number 1 and those of Bishnupur AC will he done in hall number 2.Counting for Moirang, Thanga and Kumbi AC will be carried out in hall number 3.Counting for Jiribam AC will be held at the office of the Jiribam ADC from the same timing.

Counting for the 10 ACs of Thoubal district will be done in 3 counting halls at the DC office complex.

Votes of Karong, Mao and Tadubi in Senapati district will be counted at Senapati community hall.

Counting for Chandel and Tangnoupal AC will be done at the Mini Secretariat Hall.

Counting for other hill ACs will be held at respective district and sub-divisional headquarters.

The results of the counting for Imphal East and Imphal West will be announced at Khuman Lampak Main Stadium, THAU Ground.
