Imphal, Aug 21: All preparations have been finalised for the proposed peace rally on August 23 against the terror attack at Mani Mandir of ISKCON Imphal where a rendition of Ras Lila was being staged on the occasion of Janmasthami on August 16, said a member of the All Manipur JAC For Prevention of Terrorist Activities.

Speaking during a press meet today at Sangaiprou Naharol Club, convenor of the JAC Thokchom Mani said that the rally would be flagged off from Mani Mandir at 8 am and pass through Keishampat, Wahengbam Leikai and Nagamapal before winding up at THAU ground where a public meeting would also be held.

After the meeting, a memorandum would be submitted to the Chief Minister, he mentioned while appealing to all the people to take part in the peace rally.

On the other hand, despite the assurance of the State Government for financial aid to the injured victims of the grenade attack currently undergoing treatment at RIMS and Shija Hospital, none of the victims have received any aid from the Government till date, conveyed Mani.

Except for Rs 1200 donated by the All Manipur United Clubs Organisation (AMUCO) to each of the injured, the State Government is yet to extend any kind of aid to the injured victims even as the State Cabinet has approved financial aid to the victims, he claimed.

Taking strong exception to the statement of the State Government that there were no security lapses, he construed that the failure of the State Home Department to discover any clue about the perpetrators of the attack is a clear indicator that the State intelligence wing is incompetent and has failed to serve its purpose.

The convenor disclosed that various forms of agitation would be launched after the peace rally till the Government finds out the culprits behind the terrorist attack of August 16.
