More condemn terror attack

Imphal, Aug 20: Conveying deep anguish and shock over the grenade attack at ISKCON complex on August 16 whereby five innocent civilians were killed, condemnations continue to pour in from all over the State.

On the other hand, Bhaktiswarup Damodara Swami, in a press release, said that the blood of innocent devotees spilled on Janmasthami had instilled courage and determination to all the people of Manipur irrespective of religion or community to stand united against all forces challenging peace.

Paying homage to the departed souls, the Swami prayed to the Almighty for a peaceful and prosperous Manipur.

Dubbing the grenade attack as heinous and barbaric, the Senior Citizens for Society, Nagamapal has condemned the attack in the strongest term.

The Humanist Party, Manipur State Council has also strongly condemned the bomb blast in ISKCON complex on August 16 which resulted loss of five precious lives and injuries to several others.

In a statement, party general secretary Yambem Biren Singh said such inhuman acts cannot be condoned by a non-violent political party like Humanist Party and shared the grief of the victim families.

Violating the human rights by armed groups in Manipur as well as in other parts of the world is strongly condemned by the party, the statement said, adding that at this hours we need new thoughts and new outlook.

Others that condemned the attack as an act of terrorism and barbarism include the Meetei Yelhou Mayek Inat Sandok Lup (MY MISL), Khwai Singjubung Women's Welfare Association, Poirei Ita Meira Paibi Apunba Lup Keishampat, Mahila Santi Sena, Kwakeithel, Rural United Clubs' Organisation Lamsang, the Oriental Club Khongman Mangjil, Tingkao Chap-Riak, Young Citizens' Social Club, Haobam Marak, Young Friends' Union Kha-Imphal and the Students' Federation of India, Manipur State Committee.
