Imphal, April 18: Despite the threat from various underground groups, all necessary security arrangement for holding the Outer Manipur Constituency election in a peaceful manner have been completed, disclosed an official source.

Informing that all the IGs and DIGs of the State Police Department have moved to the State Dist HQs and begun inspecting the security measures taken up for conducting the polls in a free and fair manner, the source added that most of the polling personnel have also reached their respective polling stations.

It may be noted here that the total security provided for the Outer polls is 35 companies of CRPF, 15 companies of BSF, 2000 personnel of IRB/MR, 1800 personnel of civil police, 5000 unarmed personnel besides the service of five helicopters.

According to a report from the election control room, some para military forces have also moved in towards Tamenglong through the IT Road today for the Outer polls which is scheduled on April 20.
