Imphal, March 13: Frayed tempers marked the morning session of the Assembly when Opposition MLA S Ibohal to raise an adjournment motion on the law and order situation in Manipur, but was turned down by the Speaker who instead suggested that the matter be included in the call attention motions and other topics to be discussed.

Even though Ibohal accepted the suggestion of the Speaker, a number of Opposition MLAs expressed their dissatisfaction and said that other matters may be dropped and the House should concentrate on the law and order situation in the State.

MLA I Hemochandra raised a point of order and insisted that the adjournment motion raised by Ibohal should be discussed.

As Hemochandra did not heed the directives of the Speaker to take his seat, TN Haokip signaled to the Assembly Marshal to evict him from the House.

However members of the House expressed that such a harsh measure will not sound good and Hemochandra was allowed to remain inside the Assembly.

The MLA again tried to raise the point of order but a peeved Speaker bluntly told him that he can leave the House if he is not interested in the proceedings of the Assembly.

A little while later, Hemochandra quietly walked out of the Assembly.
