Protest, appeals for Elizabeth's release continues

Imphal, November 11: Intensifying mass protests against the kidnapping of Lungnila Elizabeth by unidentified gunmen from near the Little flower School on Nov 4, sit in protests organized by different frontal organizations, student bodies and women groups were staged through out the state while demanding safe and unconditional release of the innocent student.

Information and Publicity Dept Kuki National Army Captain TT Kuki while terming the kidnapping of Lungnila Elizabeth as heinous and shameful has also appealed for the safe release of the young girl immediately on humanitarian ground.

In a show of solidarity, Maruti vans engaged in transportation of students choked section of the Tiddim Road as protest while students and staffs of Little flower School also continued sit-in-protest.

Maruti vans engaged in ferrying students of various other schools also rallied around main thoroughfares of the capital district to denounce the kidnapping.

The protesters while strongly condemning the inhumane act of the kidnapping also appealed for safe and unconditional release of the child.

Similar sit in protest were also held at Paona Bazar and MG Avenue by the shopkeepers and owners of the areas from 10 am to 4 pm today.

All shops and commercial centres downed their shutters during protest period as protest against the kidnapping.

The shopkeepers also shared the trauma of the family members of Lungnila in this hour of pain and grief.

Meanwhile, students and teaching staff of Shishu Nistha Niketan Kwakeithel, Oxford English Academy Phayeng, Olivia H/S, Kanglatongbi, Govt Hindi Sec School Kanglatongbi, St Meera School, Nongmeibung Primary School, Thamchet Girl's J/H School, Nongmeibung Jr High School, Bajarang English School Mahabali Kabui Khunjao, Laishram Mani Memorial English Academy, YSSU Balwadi Sagolband, Popular Primary School Sagiolband, St John's School New Lambulane, Popular H/S, Sagolband, Sagolband Boys Primary School, Thangjam Leirak English School, Radhesana English School, Central School Lamphel, Little Flower School, Black Bird English School Thangal Bazar, Heritage Convent School Uripok Yambem Leikai, Kanan Devi Pangei, Irilbung High School, Govt Hindi High School Kanglatombi, Nirmal Rani High School Wangoi, Ninthoukhong Royal Academy, Ninthoukhong Children Ideal School, Ningthoukhong Public School, Pemton Devi English School Ningthoukhong, Rajbabu Brighter English School Ningthukhong also organized sit in protest at the premises of their respective institutions demanding for the safe and unconditional release of Lungnila Elizabeth.

Reacting strongly against the kidnapping of GAD and Taxation Minister Francis Ngajokpa's daughter Lungnila, various women organizations and Meira Paibis also continued to stage dharnas and sit in protest in different parts of the State demanding for the chid's release on humanitarain ground.
