Imphal, May 08: Security arrangement in all the district headquarters of the State have been tightened up in connection with counting of votes for Inner Manipur Parliamentary Constituency on May 13.According to information received from the office of the Deputy Commissioner of Imphal West who is also the Election Returning Officer arrangement have been already taken up deploying Executive Magistrates over and above the security personnel to prevent any untoward incident during counting of vote.

Counting of vote for Imphal West District would be done in three counting hall and as many as 36 tables would be laid for the purpose.

SDO Lamphelpat would be in-charge of the counting hall number one as ARO.

Counting of vote for Assembly segments namely Uripok, Singjamei, Thangmeiband, Keishamthong and Sagolband would be done in 14 tables.

In counting hall number two, 10 tables would be placed where counting of vote for Lamsang, Patsoi, Sekmai and Konthoujam Assembly segments would be performed.

SDO, Lamsang would be in charge of this counting hall.

Whereas, in counting hall number three, SDO, Wangoi would be in charge of the whole affairs and counting of vote for Langthabal, Naoriya Pakhanglakpa, Wangoi and Mayang Imphal Assembly segments which would be done over 12 tables to be placed.

Apart from the security personnel 15 Executive Magistrates would be deployed to ensure nothing go amiss during counting of votes.

However, with exception to that of Congress candidate Dr T Meinya, none of the other candidates have submitted the names of the respective agents who would be taking part in the vote count till today.

Counting of vote for the Inner Manipur Parliamentary constituency would begin simultaneously in all the district headquarters from 8 am of May 13 and the results of the vote counting would be available on the same day in the office of the DC Imphal West who is also the Returning officer.

As for Imphal East District, the task of vote counting for Assembly segments of Khundrakpam, Heingang, Khurai, Kshetrigao, Thongju, Keirao, Andro, Lamlai, Yaiskul and Wangkhei would be done at the hall of the Porompat Panchayat Bhavan where ten tables would be laid, For Bishnupur district, it would be held at Mini Secretariat Building where 13 tables would be arrangement.

The Assembly segments for which counting of vote would be done are Nambol, Oinam, Bishnupur, Moirang, Thanga and Kumbi.

Counting of vote for Assembly segments of Thoubal district, namely Lilong, Thoubal and Wangkhem would be done at the Mini Secretariat of the district headquarters.

Alltogether 15 tables would be placed for the convenience of the counting personnel and agents.

Meanwhile, to ensure smooth vote count, an urgent meeting of meeting has been convened at the office of the Deputy Commissioner of Imphal West at Lamphelpat tomorrow.
