Meet reaffirms decision to continue highway boycott

Imphal, October 02: A meeting was held today at Sekmai Bazar Singlup Mandop jointly by PYDO and UCM in which the September 4 and 5 night incident, which happened in Nagaland, was discussed.

The meeting was attended among others by PYDO President, A Jila SIGA President S Narendra and UCM President in charge N Sorojini Leima, UCM Chairman documentation cell H Kulla, Sekmai Meira Paibi President Angom Shanti Devi.

The meeting condemned the Nagaland incident and decided to support the boycott of NH no 39 till a negotiated settlement is reached at the Union Govt level.

Four PRO were appointed representing various organizations.

The four are Kh Rashi Devi representing Meira Paibi, A Bikram of YPO, Thiyam Surjit of PYDO and Thangjam Romesh of PDA.

Many persons spoke during the meeting.

The Motbung Meitei Youth Club in a press hand out issued today said the Govt of India should find ways for early settlement of the issue.

National Highway protection force should be deployed.

The progressive Youth Development organization (PYDO) Sekmai said it supports the boycott call and demanded deployment of highway protection force on the national highway.

The people of the state both hill and plain have been living peacefully continuously for 2000 years.

But some persors who cannot love Manipur have been harassing (he travelers on the NH no 39 and 53, according to a press release from Kanglei Meirik Khomba Naharol Oinam Tiddim Toad Manipur.
