Imphal, July 02: The Gauhati High Court Imphal Bench has today stayed the Government order for releasing 52 wireless operators (constables) from the Manipur Police Wireless Department for joining in the 11RB and 2 IRB Bns.

The interim verdict followed a writ petition filed by the 52 wireless constables.

Case records said that the State Government had on July 31, 1998 appointed 116CRTOs (wireless operators) and the latter completed their probation period in 2000 after which they worked under the Police Wireless Department.

Following an intimation of the DGP, the authority of he Wireless Department had on June 28 this year cancelled the appointment of the 52 constables by counting their serial numbers from 1 to 52.On the same day, the constables from serial number 1 to 26 were released for joining the 1 IRB Bn by a separate order.

By yet another order issued on the same date, the constables from serial number 27 to 52 had also been released for joining the 2 IRB Bn.
