Imphal, May 31 2010: Suspecting foul play in the distribution of Kerosene oil to the public and card holders during a spot inspection today, Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Y Erabot has seized all the documents from Kerosene Depot (KD) Kangpokpi and M/s SMT Chongjahoi, which are the Kerosene dealers of Kangpokpi and Senapati district respectively.

The Minister conducted the inspection along with the officials of the Department.

On inspecting the stock position of M/s SMT Chongharoi, the Minister suspected possible foul play in the distribution of Kerosene.

Accordingly, the Minister seized all the documents related to the Kerosene dealer for verification.

The Minister also brought along with him a bunch of permits issued by the dealer to various people.

While going to inspect the stock position at KD Kangpokpi, the godown was found locked.

So, the Minister called the OC of Kangpokpi Police Station and broke the lock of the godown.

There was no Kerosene in the stock of the godown and seeing that there was also no sign of distribution of Kerosene among the people, the Minister locked up the godown with a new key and handed it over to the police.

People of the area also complained to the Minister that they have not received any Kerosene for a long time.
