Rally staged as part of the UCM's people's movement

After the rallyists converged at the starting point, the public meeting proceeded.

UCM president Yumnamcha Dilipkumar, advisor RK Ranendrajit, secretary organisation JK Mangang, social activist Ima Nganbi, etc were among the resource persons who addressed the meeting.

Delivering the key note address, JK Mangang observed that there is no enmity among the people of different communities living in Manipur.

The enemy of the people is Th Muivah because he is the one who has been trying to disintegrate Manipur and create enmity among its people.

In case, Muivah steps foot on the soil of Manipur and the State Government fails to arrest him, the people should arrest him and award him befitting punishment for his criminal activities as well as master minding the lootings on the National Highways, Mangang exhorted.

RK Ranendrajit maintained that after Manipur become a part of India, the State and its people have been become dependent for everything.

Now is the time for cultivation season.

But as there is no fuel, the farmers have not been able to plough their field.

This is a glaring instance of dependent.

So the people should understand who is their real enemy, he said.

UCM president Yumnamcha Dilipkumar said that since there has been no change in the stand of the Government of India over the proposed visit of Muivah to Manipur, the ongoing public movement would continue until the Government of India gives up its double-standard nature against the people of Manipur.

He further said any challenge to the territorial integrity of Manipur should be fought till death.

Calling upon the people to stay alert, he also cautioned against inciting communal tension.

The meeting also adopted various resolutions to the effect of opposing the proposed visit of Muivah to Manipur at any cost, reaffirming the territorial integrity and promoting communal harmony among the people.

On the other hand, Phoijing Chingning Nupi Kanglup also took out a protest rally decrying the proposed visit of Muivah to Manipur from Nodiya bridge to Nambol Bazar today.
