RKL urges CM to visit Jessami, verify rest house

Ukhrul, October 10 2009: The Raphei Katamnao Long (Raphei Students' Union) Saturday strongly reacting Manipur Chief Minister, O Ibobi's statement "No Nagaland Rest houses in Jessami" has once again hurt the sentiment of the villagers.

Mention may be made that state chief minister O Ibobi Singh in a briefing to Media yesterday late evening at that no guest, rest house and other structures constructed on the Manipur territory by the Nagaland at Jessami.

The Union in a statement signed by its president, Tennoson Pheirei issued today informed the public as well as the concerned authority that the Union strongly condemned the immature and concocted press statement of Chief Minister, "No Nagaland Rest houses in Jessami" published in all the leading dailies on October 10 .

"The statement has once again hurt the sentiments of the Villagers and the people of the region.

The rest house structure is still standing tall near the Akash Bridge at Jessami, since it would not simply vanish into thin air, and for setting the record straight and urged the chief minister to personally pay a spot visit for a better panoramic view.

The Nagaland government has constructed this venture under the IWDP (Integrated Wasteland Development Program), it observed.

Since, Jessami is situated in a strategic geographical place bordering Nagaland state and Myanmar, the RKL has been demanding immediate up-gradation of the existing yet non-function SDC post to SDO post, the Union expressed once again seeking the sincere intervention of SPF Government in addressing the problems face by the villagers and fulfilling the wishes of the people.
