Imphal, August 08: Reiterating that it has been against the practice of kidnapping children, the proscribed KCP (MC) has refuted any relation whatsoever between the party and the five individuals nabbed by local people of Nambol Khabi today for reported attempt to kidnap children.

A press release issued by the outfit's secretary military affairs Lanheiba Meitei hailed the efforts of the local people and their successful abortion of the kidnap attempt.

It also sought cooperation from the people in the effort to exterminate the kidnappers from the soil of the land.

S/S Sgt Maj Thangjangam Haokip, Touthang Haokip, Laishram Samananda, Ningthoujam Thomas and Tongbram Nilakamal punished by the people for their involvement in the kidnap attempt are not related to the outfit in any manner, Lanheiba clarified.

On the fate of Weightlifter Monika, the outfit asserted that such misfortune which often befall upon Manipuri players can be avoided only when the State becomes independent.

It further asked all students and civil organisations not to take part in the Independence Day (August 15) celebrations in any part of the State.

Any one defying the outfit's warning would be only inviting stringent censorship from the party, it added.
